Clearing is when you didn’t receive a confirmed offer from your universities, and this may be because you didn’t get the grades you were predicted, didn’t match the requirements needed for that course, or applied after the initial deadline date. But if you are still considering to attend university this year, you will need to apply by 30th June to become a part of Clearing and have a chance to find a course.
When is Clearing 2017?
Clearing starts on Results day which is the 17th August, and the universities, UCAS Track, media and social networking sites are prepared for this day!
When should I call the universities?
You should call the universities when there is a course you are interested in, or if you like that university, to see if they have spaces.
Should I use the hotlines?
You can call the hotlines at the beginning of your search to make sure you understand the process completely and know how to go forward. Most hotlines and universities will be open later during Results day and throughout Clearing to get through the high volume of calls they’re receiving, so don’t give up by tea time!
When does Clearing end?
It closes on the 30th September, which means you will need to have a course ready and confirmed by then to be able to go to university this Autumn.
