Architecture deals with the design stage of structures and uses a blend of scientific knowledge and creativity to develop structures of all shapes and sizes. Building and town planning follows suit. Becoming a fully qualified architect takes a while – a full seven years. Students will have to complete an undergraduate course, followed by a year within the industry, then complete a postgraduate course, which is then followed by another year in the industry. It is a very long path to take.
Students can study Bachelor’s of Arts and Bachelor’s of Science degrees in Architecture, Architectural Design and Technology, Interior Architecture and Venue Design, as well as BEng Civil Engineering with Architecture.
