Business Studies and Economics Course Summary

Successful businesses need to be able to respond to a diverse range of external influences that could impact their organisation’s success. On the Business Studies and Economics course you’ll learn to analyse and understand these influences, through our core modules of Foundations of Business and Business Mathematics and Statistics.

You will also have the opportunity to choose an elective module from a range of subjects designed to complement the core modules, such as Economics, Psychology and Sociology. Our Academic Skills module will draw all of your learning together – requiring you to develop and deploy critical thinking and cross-disciplinary understanding that will prepare you for your future studies.

You will have plenty of contact with staff who will teach you, with 17 hours per week of contact time and up to 5 hours per week of English Language, to help prepare you for an IELTS examination. This will leave any remaining time for independent learning, researching and preparing for assessments, lectures and seminars. Assessments will take a variety of different forms allowing you to demonstrate a range of skills.

Your degree starts here.
