**Explore and critique different approaches to educational leadership and management, allowing you to make a real difference in the sector and advance your career in any educational setting.**

Whatever educational setting you work, or aspire to work in, our MA Education with Leadership and Management will help you grow your understanding of educational leadership and management theory and apply it to your practice.

Throughout the course you’ll develop as a self-critical learner, enhancing not only your professional knowledge and leadership skills, but your research and operational skills too.

You’ll explore research in educational leadership and related fields at both national and international levels, learning to reflect on the connections between theory, policy and practice, create sophisticated academic arguments, and carry out your own projects.

On our MA Education with Leadership and Management you can tailor your studies and research towards your particular interests, linking the new theories you discover with your own daily practice. You’ll also learn to question and justify your everyday actions, improving your job satisfaction as well as the experience of pupils or students in your workplace.

Studying in our friendly community alongside other postgraduate education students from a range of backgrounds and careers will allow you to learn from their experiences, share best practice and extend your professional network.

Youll learn from our team of specialist tutors, who have a wealth of experience and expertise within the education sector, and strong links to local authorities and schools. These links will give you access to events such as guest lectures and visits to educational settings, while our Early Childhood Research Group also organises events such as conferences and seminars that you can get involved with.

If you study full-time, you’ll also be supported to gain relevant work experience, usually through a voluntary position in an educational setting or with other organisations that work with children and families.

You don’t need any prior experience in leadership and management for this course, but any experience you have in these areas will allow you to better apply and evaluate the principles you learn.

Part of the assessment for this course will require you to reflect upon and analyse a current place of work within a wider educational context, but this does not need to be your own.

You can join the course full-time in either January or September, but if you have credits from a PG Cert or PGCE you can choose to take it part-time from September.

Teaching times 2023-24 (subject to change for 2024-5): Full-time face to face - Monday 10am-1pm and 4-5.30pm; Tuesday 5-8pm.
