For many others, however, there is a need for a new approach which provides a broad-based knowledge of a number of aspects of education together with the opportunity to research a specific issue of professional concern. The EdD programme provides for those needs by combining taught units with an individually supervised thesis.<br/><br/>The programme aims to:<br/>- provide a flexible programme of academic and professionally relevant study at doctoral level in the discipline of Education Studies for students from a wide range of educational and professional backgrounds;<br/><br/><br/>- equip students with wide-ranging knowledge related to essential issues in policy, practice, research and management;<br/><br/><br/>- develop in students an in-depth understanding and appreciation of specific, specialist topics related to their professional lives and work.<br/>
