The Education Studies BA (Hons) Top-up is a University of Derby validated course. The course will provide an excellent progression route for those who have completed the Foundation Degree in Learning Support/Education or Early Childhood and wish to complete further studies.<br/><br/>Those who are working within the education sector, i.e. early years, schools, further education and hold a qualification other than a Foundation Degree may also wish to consider studying this course.<br/>During the BA (Hons) in Education Studies Top-up qualifications, the independent studies is a core module (40 credits) and you are required to engage in an independent project based around your individual vocational situation or educational interest.<br/><br/>You will have some taught sessions to guide you, however, this is independent module will require you to manage it further to your day in college.<br/><br/>During your time at College you will study the following modules:<br/>Independent Study in Education<br/>Entrepreneurial Education<br/>Left Behind and Left Out - Social Exclusion and Education<br/>The Future of Education<br/>The Science of Learning and the Art of Teaching<br/><br/>It is also recommended that you undertake a study placement, if you are not employed or volunteering in an appropriate education setting. You will need to make you own arrangement securing a placement and undertaking the relevant procedures that are required by the organisation. This would include a DBS check, which you might be required to pay for.
