This 2 year 1 day per week course is designed to provide:<br/><br/><br/>- Training for technician in design research, development and service support activities in Engineering, Manufacturing and Electronics.<br/><br/><br/>- Progression to BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.<br/><br/><br/>- The language, knowledge and practical skills demanded in the Engineering Industry.<br/><br/><br/>- Technical certificates for the Higher Apprenticeship in Engineering.<br/><br/><br/>Units of study include:<br/><br/>Year 1 -<br/>Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering)<br/><br/>2 Engineering Maths<br/>3 Engineering Science<br/>9 Materials, Properties and Testing<br/>10 Mechanical Workshop Practices<br/><br/>Year 2 -<br/>1 Engineering Design<br/>4 Managing a Professional Engineering Project (Pearson-set)<br/>8 Mechanical Principles<br/>13 Fundamentals of Thermodynamics and Heat Engines<br/><br/>This is classed as a part-time course. On successful completion of this course, you will gain a BTEC Level 4 HNC Diploma.<br/>You can achieve a BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma by studying a further two years on successful completion of the BTEC Level<br/>4 HNC Diploma.
