The two-year MLA course comprises a conversion year followed by a masters year. The one-year PgDip course is suitable if you are already a trained landscape architect. Design is at the heart of both these courses.<br/>Workshops include: model making, mapping, drawing, digital media, materials and construction. Studio work will include theoretical and professional studies, 3D workshops, and hand-drawing techniques that complement digital media presentation. The courses include study visits and opportunities to collaborate on live projects with client and community engagement. All projects will form part of your personal portfolio, which can showcase<br/>your work to potential employers. These projects reflect the opportunities of landscape practice. They include themes such as water; places and people; sustainability and regeneration; time, transformation and experience; urbanism; and professional practice. <br/>Live design projects will be reviewed by clients and may be the subject of community consultation. These courses offer additional work experience and a critical case study where you will work with practitioners in relation to on-site projects. <br/><br/>– These courses are accredited by the Landscape Institute (LI) and can form the route to the professional Pathway to Chartership, an online tool that records your knowledge and development against the LI Chartership syllabus. The final stage, once you’ve demonstrated sufficient knowledge, is the oral examination. <br/>– Kingston’s London location gives you opportunities for contemporary design projects, and the University has established local, European and international networks.<br/>– You will work closely with architecture students in an art school environment.
