**This master’s course will help you develop personally and professionally as an educator. You’ll be exposed to the latest educational theory and policy.**<br/><br/>This master’s programme will inform your educational practice.<br/><br/>As part of this course, you’ll:<br/><br/><br/>- Take a critical and reflective approach to diverse issues in education, such as culture, race, gender and class<br/><br/><br/>- Understand and challenge the importance of relevant theories, paradigms and concepts <br/><br/><br/>- Develop and articulate your own views on education, informed by a critical evaluation of relevant theoretical and practical perspectives<br/><br/><br/>- Adopt an autonomous approach to your learning and continuing professional development<br/><br/><br/>- Apply theoretical debates to critically evaluate professional practices and vocational contexts<br/><br/><br/>- Explore and critique educational theory, research, policy and practice<br/><br/><br/>- Select and apply appropriate research techniques and methodologies to complete a major piece of independent research<br/><br/><br/>- Practise making sound judgments and communicating or presenting your conclusions competently<br/><br/><br/>You’ll tailor the course to your career needs and interests by selecting from a range of option modules. This will give you the opportunity to share your experiences and learn from each others teaching methods.<br/><br/>**Teaching and learning**<br/>This course is delivered during weekend and twilight sessions, using small group tutorials, seminars and lectures. You’ll have opportunities to participate in peer-led discussions and presentations and access to additional support on our Virtual Learning Environment. Your learning will be enhanced by visiting speakers who will share their experiences of working in the educational sector.<br/><br/>**Study support**<br/>You’ll receive supportive feedback from your course team, who will provide guidance on academic writing and referencing.
