A-Level Spanish grade B required. For Spanish, post-AS and Beginners options are available only to those who have not taken the subject to A-level. To be eligible for the post-AS stream, candidates must have achieved a minimum of a grade B in Spanish at AS. For the Beginners options, grade B at GCSE (or equivalent) in Spanish or another foreign language would be required. A-level General Studies and Critical Thinking are normally excluded from offers. However, the grade achieved may be taken into account when results are published in August and may be used in a tie-break situation.

Scottish Higher Spanish grade B is required. Separate targets are shown for Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers but offers are normally made on the basis of a combination of the two.

Access to HE Diploma

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

Successful completion of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with 33 points overall including 6,5,5 at Higher Level with grade 6 in Higher Level Spanish.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)

H3,H3,H3,H3,H3,H3

Higher Level Spanish grade H3 is required. Students who take Higher Level Spanish must achieve a grade H3. Students who take Ordinary Level Spanish must achieve a grade O3. Students who have not studied Spanish must show ability in another language.
