The University of Aberdeen is a university located in Aberdeen, Scotland and in the top 1% of the world’s ranked universities. Founded in 1495, it is an ancient university and Scotland’s third-oldest (after the University of St. Andrews and the University of Glasgow). It is the fifth-oldest in the English-speaking world. Its current form is the result of a merger in 1860 between two founding colleges.

With over 16,000 students and an annual turnover of £220 million, the university has a proven track record of 93% of graduates either entering directly into work, further study or training within 6 months of finishing their degree. The subjects hold their high reputation with high-quality teaching, with over 89% of subjects rating Excellent/Highly Satisfactory and with five Nobel Laureates being associated with the university.

The university’s 550 first degree programmes and more than 120 Masters programmes partnered with the opportunities of studying abroad worldwide, is complemented with over 3,000 staff, of whom 1,400 are academic, providing students with the best possible opportunities whilst studying there.

The university is made up of the campuses; Old Aberdeen, Foresterhill, Oceanlab, Rowett Institute, Cromarty and Marischal College, and of three schools and Colleges: the College of Arts and Social Sciences, the College of Life Sciences and Medicine and the College of Physical Sciences.
