Founded in 1905, the University of Sheffield has grown in reputation and size to become one of the UK’s leading universities with a global reputation for teaching and research. As part of the UK Russell Group, the University is a premier-league, research-led institution with almost 28,000 students including nearly 7,000 international students from 143 countries and over 8,000 members of staff.

The University of Sheffield was voted number one in the Russell Group for overall student experience for the fourth year running in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2017. Its Students’ Union was voted number one for the ninth year running.
