Youll develop as a teacher and prepare for the next step in your career.<br/><br/>**How you learn:**<br/><br/>All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive.<br/><br/>Our lectures are timetabled so that you can attend university just two days a week. This allows you to balance the course with work and other commitments. Typical topics include English language teaching methodologies, how second languages are learned, teacher development and language analysis.<br/><br/>All modules allow you to focus on specific areas in TESOL, such as English for Academic Purposes, Young Learners or Assessment, and the flexible research project encourages you to specialise in a research setting of your choice.<br/><br/>You learn through<br/><br/><br/>- interactive workshops<br/><br/><br/>- guided observations<br/><br/><br/>- collaborative activities such as lesson planning, microteaching and group work<br/><br/><br/>- guided reading<br/><br/><br/>- participation in lectures<br/><br/><br/>- collaboration with a research supervisor<br/><br/><br/>**Applied learning**<br/><br/>Throughout the course, we support you in observations, reflections, planning and delivering teaching experiences. You will be assigned an academic tutor for the year and all modules offer one-to-one support from module leaders.
