This course is designed for healthcare professionals who facilitate learning or teach in their practice. It will be attractive to healthcare professionals who can see the role that learning and teaching plays in their everyday practice and wish to equip themselves with the skills to participate in learning and teaching with peers, colleagues, students and service users. <br/><br/>The course is primarily facilitated through practice learning supported by university sessions. <br/><br/>You will be introduced to the principles that underpin learning and teaching and the rationale behind decisions made about specific teaching practices or delivery. Building on this knowledge, you will then explore a variety of techniques used in practice such as small group teaching, facilitation, patient education and skills teaching. Having completed the PGCert students will have the opportunity to exit or proceed to a higher linked course to continue their studies.
