Successful, innovative and modern – welcome to the University of Huddersfield.
Based right in the town centre and at the heart of the local community, we help thousands of people, from school leavers to those returning to education after a gap, achieve their goals each year.
We are an award-winning University. Not only are we climbing the education league tables, we are also receiving national recognition for our work across a number of different areas including being named the Times Higher Education University of the Year in 2013. The University of Huddersfield is the only University where 100% of the permanent teaching staff are Fellows of the Higher Education Academy*
Why do over 23,000 students choose to study at Huddersfield?
The University of Huddersfield is a growing centre of research and excellence and we always push the boundaries of knowledge. Our academic staff are continually rated as providing high quality teaching in an exciting and stimulating environment. We are proud to be rated as number one in the UK for our assessment and feedback as well as being top ten in England for student satisfaction.
We have an impressive record for graduate employment, with 94% of our undergraduate and 93% of postgraduate students in work or further study six months after graduating. We have excellent links with industry and every year over 2,000 students take part in work placements. We are top in Yorkshire for graduate employability and students can expect a starting salary on average of £19,500.
Millions of pounds have been spent on campus development over the past five years, making sure our students have access to some of the best facilities in the country. Our campus also has a vibrant social scene and we have a very active Students’ Union with more than 70 clubs and societies.
The University is growing its reputation as a leader in the field of Enterprise. In 2012 the University was awarded the prestigious Times Higher Education Entrepreneurial University of the Year and followed this up in 2013 when we were awarded two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise. We have helped a number of graduates to set up their own successful businesses and have a fantastic Enterprise Team who are here to help you with your ideas and make sure they get off the ground. Our state-of-the-art 3M Buckley Innovation Centre is a great hub for students who wish to set up their own business and provides a great opportunity to network with other students and local businesses.
