This programme will give you a strong understanding of sustainable tourism. You will develop an awareness of the cultural and environmental issues influenced by tourism and be able to apply critical and practical solutions.<br/><br/>WHY THIS PROGRAMME<br/>You will evaluate sustainable tourism as a response to local and global challenges experienced within and beyond the tourism industry.<br/>Discover policies and practices for the management of sustainable tourism and how these can be used to address environmental and cultural issues.<br/>You will be equipped with intellectual and research skills that will enable you to assess complex, real-world problems and develop innovative solutions.<br/>The programme will enhance your appreciation of sustainable leadership approaches and how such approaches can be engaged with in differing cultures and contexts.<br/>You will be based at a world leading university, located within the Dumfries and Galloway region, an area notable for its natural and cultural resources, including a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, among many other sites of relevance to sustainable tourism.<br/><br/>PROGRAMME STRUCTURE<br/>You will complete six core courses and one optional course, followed by a dissertation (which may include a work placement).<br/><br/>You will be taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, tutorials and project work.
