Sport and Exercise Science (Extended)

**Our extended sports science degree gives you a wide knowledge of the subject and has an extra year to prepare you for degree-level study. You’ll need lower entry points than for our three-year course.**<br/><br/>Our extended degree in sports science will develop your knowledge of sports physiology, biomechanics, nutrition and psychology, and performance analysis. Using advanced sports science equipment, youll explore these areas in the lab and through the study of a sport or health-related exercise of your choice.<br/><br/>The degree begins with a foundation year to build up your study skills for subsequent years. Youll then follow the same curriculum offered on our three-year course.<br/><br/>Youll put your new skills and knowledge into practice through work experience. Among the opportunities available across the sport and exercise science industry are placements at Charlton Athletic Football Club.<br/><br/>**What you should know about this course**<br/><br/><br/>* This four-year degree is identical to the three-year course but has a foundation year with lower entry requirements<br/><br/><br/>* Study a sports science degree that is in the top 20 in the UK (Complete University Guide 2023).<br/><br/><br/>* The foundation year includes academic writing, computing skills, introduction to the subject and more.<br/><br/><br/>* Students studying this course can expect to earn up to £30,000 on graduation (HESA, 2020).<br/><br/><br/>* Our campus is home to excellent facilities including an indoor AstroTurf airdome, sports hall and strength and conditioning lab.<br/>
