On successful completion of your foundation year, you’ll be ready to progress to the first year of your degree course.<br/><br/>As a foundation year student, you’ll be a full student of the University and part of our community. You’ll have access to all our campus facilities and support.<br/><br/>**Why choose this course**<br/>• Our innovative BEng and MEng Electronic Engineering with Nanotechnology courses allow you to apply cutting-edge theory to existing engineering problems and technologies related to quantum information processing, sensors and advanced materials.<br/><br/>• You’ll combine professional engineering skills with scientific research methods, equipping you for industry. <br/><br/>• You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in our Professional Training placements scheme, which prepares students for roles in various technology-based sectors.<br/><br/>**What you will study**<br/>Whether youre interested graphene or quantum engineering, our BEng and MEng Electronic Engineering with Nanotechnology courses give you the specialist skills you need to work on modern nanoscale device fabrication.<br/><br/>After getting a firm grounding in electrical science and electronics, you’ll learn about:<br/><br/>• Nanotechnology<br/>• Power and energy efficient electronic devices<br/>• Production and characterisation of nanomaterials<br/>• Quantum science.<br/><br/>You can apply to study for either a BEng or MEng. The MEng builds on the BEng with a masters year and is a direct route to a masters qualification, known as an integrated masters.
