On successful completion of your foundation year, you’ll be ready to progress to the first year of your degree course.<br/><br/>As a foundation year student, you’ll be a full student of the University and part of our community. You’ll have access to all our campus facilities and support.<br/><br/>**Why choose this course**<br/>Politics is about people and power: who gets it, how they use it and what makes a society fair.<br/><br/>Our BSc (Hons) Politics course focuses on the role that citizens can play in shaping politics locally, nationally and internationally. You’ll examine questions of national and international significance, develop an understanding of the concepts, approaches and methods in political science, and explore the way power is exercised and distributed, and how decisions in politics are made.<br/><br/>You will have the opportunity to develop and apply primary research skills on a topic of your choice, if you choose to write a dissertation in your final year.
