GCSEs

A General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) is an internationally recognised qualification (Recognised by all Commonwealth countries that have licensed education systems that are similar or are identical to the UK education system) that is awarded in a specified subject and is generally taken in a number of different subjects by pupils in secondary education across England and Wales over two years (This can extend to three years in some schools). It was introduced into the UK in 1988 to replace what was then known as an O-level and CSE (And the GCE before that) examinations.
