If you are thinking of coming to this university then I’d recommend you do. I’ve only just started my course and I’ve been told I can pick from several modules in my second and third year to slightly tailor my course, thats what makes it so good. Halls can be noisy at times and some of my mates hate it, whereas I expected it. Sports are good here, there is quite a few on offer and it seems that there is something for everyone, so I do recommend going to the student union to have a look. Come here and try this place, youll fall in love so quick!
No one likes work but at nottingham you get to do lots of practicals in the animal science corse....the lectures are so friendly and will give you all the help you can get.... I am personally doing this corse to get my self into veterinary course at the uni and its giving me everything i need for that... The one bit of advice is don't go out every night drinking and get your homework/work done as soon as u receive it.
The halls I'm in has shared bathroom (as its the cheaper option) so it's pretty good, most of the room do have their own shower room and toilet but i decided against this. The room has a single bed and a huge desk and a small wardrobe. There is also wifi. It?s cheaper then nearly every other uni, which is good. The only bad thing is that the kitchen gets messy quickly, but that?s what you get for having 8 students living together! However cleaners are coming twice a week for kitchen and communal areas. You also get spot checked every week so be carefully :).... I love it.
It has everything and anything within a 20 minutes bus ride....a swimming pool riding facilities....shops...bars/clubs....a library everything city life is great so it would suit all and every kind of person
The library has great features its huge with loads of computers and any books that aren't in the library will be ordered in too.... The student bar is great and very cheap too we have a barn dance and a silent disco too, we have full sport facilities just outside the campus.
You can join/make any society you want there are loads...... I am in the vet..bioscience...shoe....rugby societies and there only 2 to join for a year.
I had a brilliant experience at Nottingham university and I would definitely recommend this university! However be careful when choosing your course and looking into the modules within the course as some courses are very similar but there modules are vastly different! I nearly made that mistake!
My course was fantastic and the tutors were very helpful, we only had a class of 11/12 people which was brilliant as I got to spend a lot more time interacting with my lecturers.
Halls are great in the first year its the real uni experience, it is the best way to meet new people and make friends, at nottingham uni they have an option to get all your food done for you, but it is a lot more money, and I would rather pay for my own food and cook it how I like, but it is an option at nottingham!
The city centre of nottingham is fantastic, it is very old but they have very new buildings and architecture which makes the place look lovely! They have loads of places to shop, drink eat and party so it is well suited for all types of students.
Attend the freshers fayre at the start of the year and you'll be able to get involved in the clubs and societies which is always good! another good way to meet new people.
I would not hesitate to recommend nottingham university to anyone it was was fantastic uni!
The course and lectures were very focused, especially the staff on students, they are brilliant at helping students with problems and solving problems with them, even if the problems have nothing to do with the course or their work.
In my first year I stayed in halls which was amazing, I met loads of great people and people which i think i'll be friends with for life! The are great value for money and are very nice and clean.
The city centre of nottingham is really good, I now live in a area of nottingham called Lenton with is full of students, its a great place to live but a bit desserted in the holidays but students everywhere!
The uni facilities are great, they have 3 amazing sporting complexes and the startard of the sport teams is very very high! The uni has just built a new sports pavilion at Highfields. The library is very modern and open all hours.
Nottingham has the MOST societies for any SU in the UK with over 200, and 77 sports clubs. The SU's clubs make student life a great place to be where you meets lots of new people, definitely sign up to a sports club or society in freshers fair!
