Were also one of only two UK veterinary schools that are accredited by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE). <br/><br/>If you meet certain criteria and your personal circumstances may have restricted achievement at school or college, this course could help you to get started in veterinary medicine. <br/><br/>Youll study biology and chemistry, while also gaining an introduction to animal behaviour and care. This will help you join the main five-year course with confidence and a solid foundation of knowledge.<br/><br/>Youll have a combination of lectures and practical classes, putting your learning in context and helping you get used to university-level study. <br/><br/>Most of your learning will take place in our purpose-built veterinary school, where youll have access to:<br/>- anatomy and clinical labs<br/><br/><br/>- a surgery and dissection suite<br/><br/><br/>- lecture theatre and small-group teaching rooms<br/><br/><br/>- research facilities<br/><br/><br/>- animal facilities such as kennels, stables, exotic pet rooms and sheep and pig housing<br/><br/><br/>Youll also use specialist facilities, including:<br/><br/><br/>- the University Farm<br/><br/><br/>- the Centre for Dairy Science Innovation (CDSI)<br/><br/><br/>- a paperless Super Lab<br/><br/><br/>After completing your gateway year youll automatically join our five-year veterinary medicine and surgery course.
