Push Notification

This guide explains how to prepare a Push Notification campaign, including your tracking link and the title and message requirements.

A push notification gives students a concise prompt to explore your university or take action. We write the title and message for you and send both for approval, reducing the preparation needed from your team.

What we need from you

To prepare a standalone push notification, please supply:

  • One UTM tracking link per standalone sendto your chosen landing page.

  • Approval of the title and message we prepare for you.

Your destination page should support the action in the notification, whether that is exploring a course, finding out more or booking an event.

Title and message requirements

Push notifications have separate title and body requirements:

  • Title: A maximum of 32 characters.

  • Body: Aim for 80–120 characters, with a maximum of 120.

  • Message: Highlight a clear reason to engage and include a strong call to action.

  • References: Do not include competitor references.

Keep the title focused on the main reason to open the notification. Use the body to add useful detail and explain the next step.

Push notifications within a wider campaign

For push notifications included in an Event Marketing or January UCAS Deadline campaign, one UTM tracking link covers the entire campaign. Separate links are not needed for each channel.

Frequently asked questions

Does Uni Compare write the notification?

Can we amend the proposed wording?
