This guide explains what to supply for your Clearing Profile, including content approval, contact details, images and an optional video.
Your Clearing Profile helps students explore your university and take their next step through website clicks, calls and registrations of interest. We write your profile content for you, saving your team time during a busy recruitment period.
Reviewing your profile content
We draft two sections for your approval:
Clearing Overview: your Clearing application process, eligibility information and the support available to prospective students.
Why Your Institution?: what makes your university distinctive, such as your facilities, student experience, offers and grants.
Please check that the information is accurate, current and relevant to students considering a Clearing place.
Each section is 500–1,000 characters. Profile content cannot include paragraph breaks, bullet-point lists, links or contact numbers. We can reference your university’s accolades, but cannot include competitor references. These requirements help your content work consistently across web and app.
Supplying your tracking and contact details
Please supply all three items:
One UTM tracking link to your university’s relevant Clearing landing page. Students reach it through the Visit Website button.
Your Clearing phone number, which is reached through a Call button using a tracked number.
Your Clearing email address, monitored by a team or colleague who can respond to students registering their interest.
A UTM link is a website address with tracking information added to help identify campaign traffic. You can update the destination during the campaign. You may also supply one phone number for the build-up to Results Day and another for Results Day itself; make the intended switch clear to Client Success.
Your supplied phone number and email address are not displayed as plain contact details on the profile. Please make sure both routes reach the right team.
Preparing your gallery images
Choose photography that helps students picture your campus, facilities and university experience.
Supply up to 12 gallery images.
Size images at 1920 × 1080 pixels.
Use JPG or PNG files.
Do not include text on the images.
Keep the main subject centred, outside the 200-pixel area around the edges.
Supply clear images without pixelation.
The edges can be cropped when images adapt to different devices. Keeping the main subject in the centre helps it remain visible. Updating existing imagery is optional, but a refresh can help your profile represent your university accurately.
Adding a profile video
Video is optional. If you supply one, please include a thumbnail and follow these requirements:
Length: no longer than 30 seconds.
File size: smaller than 20MB.
Format: MPEG-4, using MP4/H.264.
Aspect ratio: 16:9.
Video and thumbnail dimensions: 1920 × 1080 pixels.
Watermarks: none.
On-screen text: keep this limited where possible.
A thumbnail is required when you supply a Clearing Profile video. It appears until the student plays the video.
Keeping your profile ready for Clearing
Check the application information, destination page and contact routes before approving your profile. Let Client Success know when any of these need to change.
For the 2026 profile interaction guarantee, the media pack specifies that the profile must remain live from 1 July to 30 September, with website clicks, calls and register interest active. Your booked tier determines your interaction commitment; speak to Client Success before changing the availability of these actions.
