The MA Black Studies and Global Justice draws on interdisciplinary approaches from history, sociology, psychological, political science, and cultural studies to understand Black identities and struggles for justice, through engaging in scholarly and activist discussions on racial justice, representation, decolonisation, and equity within a global context.<br/><br/>The course aims to:<br/><br/><br/>• Analyse and critically evaluate the historical and contemporary experiences of Black communities, focusing on racial, social, and economic inequalities from a global dimension of racial injustice, colonialism, and their impact on Black populations.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Develop strategies for advancing racial and social justice through policy analysis, activism, and community-based initiatives, through contributing to global debates on gender and health inequalities, reparations, migration, and diaspora, connecting local and global justice movements. <br/><br/><br/><br/><strong>Whats covered in this course?</strong><br/>Key topics on the course include:<br/>• Contemporary Black thought and global justice.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Black politics.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Black diaspora history.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Intersectional identities, and inequalities.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Community engagement, action, and research skills.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Insights into Black psychology and global health issues.<br/><br/>
