Research Methods with Education MSc

The MSc in Research Methods with Education provides rigorous training in qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods approaches, accessible to people from a range of backgrounds. The course benefits from an inter-disciplinary student body, with people specialising in: Education; Human Geography; International Development; and Planning, Property and Environmental Management.<br/><br/>The MSc provides an innovative blend of methodological training and discipline-specific modules. You will study:<br/><br/><br/>• Four methodological modules, covering qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods research.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Four discipline-specific modules in Education from a range of optional units.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• A dissertation.<br/><br/><br/><br/>Our core aim is to develop critical, well-rounded social scientists that are equipped with both robust methodological skills and discipline-specific knowledge.<br/><br/>The course is recognised by both the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the North West Doctoral Training Centre, and therefore can be taken as part of a 1+3 PhD scholarship.
