BSc Computer Science with Integrated Foundation Year and Professional Practice Year is a five-year degree programme, including a foundation year to help develop your skills and creativity before you start the first year of the degree course and your fourth year would be an industry placement to further develop your skills and CV.<br/><br/>Code, create, and collaborate – with creativity at the heart of your skills.<br/><br/>Learning to code will give you a skill for life. Learning to code in an art school, surrounded by creatives and working on experimental briefs, will give you an edge that makes you impossible to ignore in the job market. Here, you’ll collaborate with artists, designers, film directors, and game makers – who will change the way you see software and systems, and give you a unique vision of computing.<br/><br/>Youll get your hands on the hardware early – Arduinos, sensors, circuit boards – and work in virtual production studios alongside your end users. The software you write will have consequences that you can see and hear – fundamentally influencing the way you see and write code.<br/><br/>Graduate with a full technical toolkit: programming, algorithms, software engineering, AI, data, systems – accredited and industry-ready. And because youve spent three years building software alongside other digital creatives, you’ll have a perspective, portfolio, and level of experience that most of your peers won’t.

We consider the strength of our applicants’ portfolios as well as their grades and we therefore may make offers which are lower than our standard entry criteria of 112 tariff points. This may be to students who have faced difficulties that have affected their performance and who were expected to achieve higher results - in these cases, a strong portfolio is especially important. We regularly admit students with a tariff much higher than our standard 112 requirement, and applicants who show potential but aren’t quite at the stage to be able to succeed on the course are offered a 4 year degree with an integrated foundation year which has a standard entry requirement of 32 tariff points.
