The course is designed for people who wish to make a career in the marine and offshore industries and who have either developed some experience in industry, maritime or otherwise, or have a sound academic basis or skills upon which to build.
During the course, in addition to gaining an understanding of the underlying principles upon which the industry is based, students will also gain confidence in the interpersonal and international cultural skills which are essential to senior roles in the maritime industries.

The course is designed for people who wish to make a career in the marine and offshore industries and who have either developed some experience in industry, maritime or otherwise, or have a sound academic basis or skills upon which to build.<br/><br/>During the course, in addition to gaining an understanding of the underlying principles upon which the industry is based, students will also gain confidence in the interpersonal and international cultural skills which are essential to senior roles in the maritime industries.<br/><br/><strong>Objectives</strong><br/>The Maritime Operations and Management course is designed for existing professionals serving in the industry as well as those looking for a career within the maritime, offshore and sea transport industries. For those already within the industry applicants are likely to have a responsible sea-going or middle-management position. Alternatively, new entrants to the industry are likely to have attained a first degree in a related technical or management subject.<br/><br/>This modular course is focused towards giving students the necessary knowledge and skills to help them achieve high levels in their careers in the maritime and offshore industries. Indeed, many former students on this course have now reached board level appointments in their various companies.<br/><br/>This course is accredited by The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology, the international professional body and learned society.<br/><br/>This course is also accredited by Chartered Institute of Shipbrokers.
