Photography MA

MA Photography is a practice-based programme designed to test, push and extend the boundaries of what contemporary photography is. With a specialist focus on the materials and technologies of publishing and exhibition making, you will work in a critical and supportive environment with a diverse group of interests. Through practical exploration and critical research, you will develop a unique practice tailored to your individual creative and professional ambitions.<br/><br/>Through hands-on exploration and critical research, youll question and redefine photography, engaging with emerging technologies and ideas.<br/><br/>Based at the School of Digital Arts (SODA), you will join a vibrant community with access to a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities, including analogue and digital darkrooms, fully equipped photography studios, and 3D printing facilities based at PrintCity, as well as sound, green screen and editing suites.<br/><br/><strong>Features and Benefits</strong><br/>• You will join a course that fosters interesting and diverse engagement with external partners within Manchester, the region, nationally and internationally, including HOME, BBC (Media City), Manchester City and Regional Art Galleries, Open Eye Photography Gallery, Red Eye Photography Network, International Anthony Burgess Foundation and international partnerships in Europe, China, North America, India and Malaysia.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• You will become an integral part of the School of Digital Arts, home to a creative community of interdisciplinary research staff with expertise in diverse fields of practice such as animation, filmmaking, photography, games art, immersive arts and sound design.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• You will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including analogue and digital darkrooms, fully equipped photography studios, and 3D printing facilities based at PrintCity, as well as sound, green screen and editing suites.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• You will benefit from our links to industry to build your network and access industry knowledge, with visiting speakers, guest lecturers and visits to galleries and exhibitions.<br/><br/>
