<strong>Overview</strong><br/>Running over two years (45 weeks per year), our full-time, accelerated course supports students who have an undergraduate degree in a related subject to practise as a physiotherapist. If you are already a physiotherapy graduate and have an active registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), please see our MSc Advanced Physiotherapy. <br/><br/>Our taught masters degree helps you to integrate physiotherapy theory with practice and to develop your skills in critical thinking. Some of the topics youll study include the structure and function of the nervous system, cardiorespiratory system and musculoskeletal system. You’ll consider issues such as health inequalities, the legal and policy frameworks governing physiotherapy practice in the UK, and integrated care. <br/><br/>Many of our teaching team are actively involved in research and clinical practice alongside their teaching commitments. <br/><br/><strong>Features and benefits</strong><br/>• Accelerated course - Two-year course developed for postgraduate students to gain registration as a physiotherapist. <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Practice experience - Youll complete clinical placements in both years of this course, gaining experience across private and NHS practice environments in the UK. You’ll need to complete a total of 1,000 hours of clinical placements to register as a physiotherapist. <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Study abroad - Youll have the opportunity to choose your final placement location and speciality, with the option to study abroad. <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Specialist facilities - Youll learn in our dedicated physiotherapy facilities on-campus, which includes eight separate practical rooms, a movement laboratory and simulation technology. <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Approved course - Our course is approved and validated by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP); upon graduation you’ll be eligible to register with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and for membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Variety of placements - You’ll complete four, six-week placements and one, five-week placement. These placements are normally organised by the Practice Placement team and take place in a wide variety of clinical areas including the NHS and private practice. The final transitional placement can be in an area of your choice either in the UK or abroad. <br/><br/>
