A particular strength of the course is the introduction it offers to Digital History.

In addition to the taught modules you will also complete a dissertation under the supervision of one of our specialist historians.

Throughout your studies you will have access to our leading learning facilities and you will be welcome at academic events and seminars hosted by the new Institute of the Humanities. This includes the fortnightly History Research Seminar, where we welcome historians from throughout the world to show us their latest research.

The history group at Northumbria also has a strong reputation as providers of public history. It has just launched its second MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) exploring the fascinating history of the North-East from a global perspective. Global Geordies complements our first MOOC which examines the Culture of the American South from colonial times to the 21st century. Feel free to enrol and get a feeling for the excellent research and teaching that we can offer.
