This Master’s by Research offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a substantial, independent research project within the biological, physical, computing, mathematical or engineering sciences. Designed for those considering a future in research or specialist scientific careers, the course enables you to develop advanced research skills through professional experience in laboratories, fieldwork and/or computational modelling.<br/><br/>You will explore a research topic within your chosen discipline, working at the forefront of current scientific developments. Supported by an experienced supervisory team, you’ll build the specialist knowledge and practical expertise necessary to pursue your chosen career path. Our research has a strong focus on areas such as sustainability and the environment, health and wellbeing, and culture and society.<br/><br/>Alongside your research, you will complete a taught research methods module and select a further postgraduate option aligned with your project. Over the course of the year, you’ll focus primarily on your research, culminating in the submission of a written thesis that demonstrates your ability to conduct rigorous, independent scientific inquiry.
