This has a limited success.<br/><br/>This course aims to improve this by integrating dental public health into the training of dentists who want to work in clinical practice.<br/><br/>This one year course will give you the knowledge and skills to make a bigger difference in your patients oral health and quality of life.<br/><br/>As a student of Dental Public Health with Clinical Dentistry at Dundee, you will learn:<br/><br/><br/>- how to undertake health surveillance<br/><br/><br/>- to identify and tackle oral health inequalities<br/><br/><br/>- more impactful upstream approaches for prevention and health promotion<br/><br/><br/>- how to empower individuals and communities to improve their oral health<br/><br/><br/>You will develop critical awareness of current problems. You will also gain new insights into the fields of dental public health, behavioural sciences and oral health promotion.<br/><br/>You will learn the techniques needed in the practice of dental public health. You’ll also learn how to evaluate dental public health methodologies and develop critiques of them.<br/><br/>The course will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to propose new methods to advance the practice of dental public health.<br/><br/>You’ll learn from a range of experienced staff. This will include consultants and specialists in dental public health. You will also learn from dental public health researchers, including staff from NHS Education for Scotland (NES).<br/><br/>You will also benefit from other visiting external speakers who will run workshops and guest lectures in a wide range of related topics.
