Infrastructure and environment research seeks to contribute to efficient, sustainable and resilient infrastructure in the built and natural environments.<br/><br/>Research in this area can focus on wide-reaching themes, such as:<br/>• Environmental Engineering<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Fire Safety Engineering<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Granular and Geomechanical Processes<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Infrastructure Sensing and Systems<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Structural Engineering & Mechanics<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Sustainable and Digital Construction (SDC)<br/><br/><br/><br/>As a Masters by Research (MScR) student, you will spend the duration of this programme working on a research project. An MScR programme allows you to gain specialist knowledge in your research area, and is sometimes taken as a precursor to a PhD.<br/><br/>You will conduct your research as part of the Institute for Infrastructure and Environment (IIE), a group of researchers whose work seeks to contribute to efficient, sustainable and resilient infrastructure in the built and natural environments.
