Your thesis will be around 80,000 words. Our programme includes access to skills training, including research methodologies specific to Korean and East Asian studies. <br/><br/>Our programme is based in an Asian Studies department at the University of Edinburgh with a unique combination of disciplinary expertise. This reflects the Korean peninsulas place at the centre of landmark geopolitical developments in the early 21st century.<br/><br/>We have particular strengths in:<br/><br/><br/>* modern Korean history<br/><br/><br/>* Korean society and culture<br/><br/><br/>* political economy<br/><br/><br/>* urban studies<br/><br/><br/>* security<br/><br/><br/>* public policy<br/><br/><br/>* political science<br/><br/><br/>* international relations<br/><br/><br/>We are able to support PhD theses crossing boundaries between Korean studies and other disciplines, including:<br/><br/><br/>* comparative literature<br/><br/><br/>* film studies<br/><br/><br/>* intermediality<br/><br/><br/>Our East Asian Studies Collection includes one of the largest collections of East Asian digital resources in the UK and Europe. It also contains a dedicated Korea Collection supported by the Korea Foundation.
