You will build a strong understanding of crop production and how crops adapt to climate and environmental change and learn to design productive farming systems that reduce pressure on natural resources. Although the focus is on tropical and developing countries, the approaches you study are relevant worldwide.<br/><br/>The course integrates natural, social and economic sciences and draws on the world‑leading expertise of the award‑winning Natural Resources Institute. Teaching covers crop production, pest and disease management, postharvest technologies, climate adaptation and agricultural economics, supported by real global case studies and opportunities to contribute to current research. Students benefit from small classes, close supervision and access to advanced research facilities on the Medway Campus.<br/><br/>Graduates progress into roles in international development, sustainable agriculture, food security, climate resilience, research and NGO project management.
