Find out more at https://www.lancashire.ac.uk/study/block-learning<br/><br/>Our MSc Applied Clinical Psychology will strengthen your academic credentials to prepare for a career in clinical psychology or other professions in mental health.<br/><br/>This postgraduate degree has been designed to develop your knowledge, understanding and skills in core theoretical, methodological, and empirical areas of clinical psychology.<br/><br/>You’ll develop the knowledge, skills and experience needed for progression to the Doctor of Clinical Psychology (DClinPsych) courses. Youll need to take these courses if you want to take on a leading role in clinical psychology in the NHS, private practice or other related fields.<br/><br/><strong>Why study with us</strong><br/><br/><br/>• The course highlights the value of evidence-based practice. We’ll help you turn your enthusiasm for clinical psychology into advanced research skills.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Our placement experience helps you develop versatile, professional skills that are valuable across the sector - whatever career path you choose.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Our placements are wide and varied, and have included working in the private sector, third sector and local NHS services.<br/><br/><br/><br/><strong>Future Careers</strong><br/><br/>Our programme strengthens your academic credentials in preparation for a career in clinical psychology. This includes assistant psychologist posts within the NHS and further competitive doctoral training in clinical psychology.<br/><br/>You’ll also strengthen your CV in preparation for other professions in the areas of Clinical Psychology, mental health, academia, or research. <br/><br/>In the year immediately after completing our course, past students have gone on to secure positions as assistant clinicalpsychologists in a range of services. This could be:<br/><br/><br/>• Specialist learning disabilities teams within the NHS<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Forensic services<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Psychological wellbeing practitioners<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Psychology healthcare assistants in the NHS<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Mental wellbeing practitioners in the private sector<br/><br/><br/><br/>Other career paths include:<br/><br/><br/>• Assistant clinical psychologist<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Associate psychological practitioner<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Health centres<br/><br/><br/><br/>• PhD research and lecturing in higher education<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Research assistant and other research posts within the NHS or academia, in either clinical psychology or mental health<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Social services<br/><br/><br/><br/>There are also other careers in mental health care that involve working with individuals experiencing psychological distress. For example, a psychological wellbeing practitioner within the NHS.
