As part of NMITE’s mission to integrate into the local community of Hereford, we transformed a former school into an exceptional modern campus filled with purpose-built studios and a factory fully equipped with all the equipment and machinery you will need during your studies.
Learning at NMITE is built on collaboration between small groups of students and the academic team, with no lecture halls in sight. The Blackfriars campus is no exception. Each studio has been designed to be flexible enough to accommodate up to 25 students working together in groups of 5 so that no matter what project you are working on, you have the space and equipment you need to succeed.
When it comes to testing out your ideas or building prototype solutions for your latest project, the Factory is the place to be. Filled to the brim with equipment for metalworking, woodworking and beyond.

NMITE’s degrees have been designed to accelerate the learning journey in a way that propels you into the world of work faster, with stronger practical skills and a more well-rounded and conscious perspective for problem-solving. They have been designed to make graduates highly employable.
Our model of working on real-world challenges brings you into contact with employers of varying sizes and from a multitude of sectors including security, health, energy, sustainability, food production and infrastructure, working on projects that enhance their business.
The engineering industry desperately needs graduates with subject knowledge and excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply these skills to real-world environments. We secure your employability through an immersive, employer-engaged course offering where knowledge, contextual understanding, work experience, employability skills, and perspective are integrated within.
There are no traditional exams at NMITE. Instead, you’ll build a personal portfolio through module assessments.

Student Life
NMITE provides a unique 9-5 model of learning, with everything outside of that being time for you to use as you like. You'll enjoy an extended summer holiday and breaks throughout the year. Wednesday afternoons are not scheduled as contact time, so you might use this time to arrange a 1:1 with your personal tutor, work on personal or set projects in the NMITE factory, seek support within the ASK Centre, or take a little extra downtime.
Seeking relaxation? Hereford is home to a wide range of hidden gems, from secret spas to lavender and sunflower fields. Hay-on-Wye, the famous town of books is a stone's throw away - and along with Hereford's own Indie Food and Hereford Food festivals, Abergavenny and Ludlow, both an easy 20-minute train ride, offer some of the best food festival experiences the UK has to offer.
Love music? Hereford has a thriving food and music scene, with many venues playing host to live bands, speakeasy bars, and street food. Hereford is also known as the UK's Cider City for good reason - the locals certainly aren't opposed to a good time!
Tuition Fees, Scholarships and Bursaries
Tuition Fees
NMITE's students on standard duration degrees will pay UK Home fees of £9,000 per year for BSc, BEng and MEng courses. Students on accelerated or fast-track degrees will pay UK Home frees of £9,000 per year for BEng, and £10,800 for MEng courses.
Accelerated and fast-track options allow students to complete their degrees faster than their peers, meaning students spend less on their education and become ready to work within two/three years.
NMITE's international student fees are £18,000 per year (£6,000 in the final 4 months of study for Fast-track BEng students).
Foundation Year students will pay UK Home fees of £9,000, followed by the relevant tuition fees of the degree studied. Fees for future intakes may vary.
