This Music and Film degree will allow you to explore the many connections between these two creative disciplines, from a range of perspectives. As a graduate with specialisms in both Music and Film, you will be equipped for a wide range of professional careers.<br/><br/>Studying Music and Film offers exciting opportunities to hone your skills in performance, filmmaking, writing, critical thinking, theorising and debate. Film at Bangor combines historical critical and creative work and practice. You will learn about the film industry, history and theory, as well as film-making techniques. You will be able to study Music in culture, society and history as well as creatively through composition and performance. You can enhance your solo and/or ensemble performance skills.<br/><br/>As well as unrivalled performance opportunities, our extensive music facilities include two professional standard concert halls, rehearsal spaces, practice rooms, and electroacoustic composition and recording studios. Our filmmaking facilities include editing suites and the latest 4K digital filmmaking equipment. You’ll also have access to the professionally equipped public screening spaces in Pontio. <br/><br/>‘Placement Year’ and International Experience Year’ options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to fully consider these options when you have started your course at Bangor and can make an application for a transfer onto such a pathway at the appropriate time. OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma
Extended Project
Points can include a relevant Extended Project (EPQ) but must include a minimum 2 full A-levels, or equivalent. Please contact us for more information.
A level
Including a grade B in Music. In lieu of Music A-level we will also consider other A-level subjects in conjunction with other level 3 qualifications in Music or merit in the ABRSM/Trinity/LCM/Rockschool Grade 5 Theory/Grade 7 Practical; or IB Higher in Music. General Studies and Key Skills not normally accepted.

T Level qualifications are accepted on a case by case basis.
Welsh Baccalaureate - Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (last awarded Summer 2024)
We will accept this qualification in conjunction with other level 3 qualifications.
