<strong>Develop personal and communication skills to support people with mental health issues, helping them lead a normal life on this degree in mental health nursing.</strong><br/><br/>Qualify as a registered mental health nurse and develop the expertise to be able to support people with mental illnesses in their homes and specialist health services.<br/><br/>As part of this mental health nursing degree, you’ll:<br/>• Spend time at university honing your specialist knowledge<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Practise your skills in a supported healthcare environment during placements<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Learn how to aid the recovery of people with mental health problems, while working alongside those in related health and social care professions, including adult nurses, social workers and dietitians<br/><br/><br/><br/>Occupational Health clearance and compliance with standard NHS immunisations requirements is mandatory and essential for placement attendance. Please click “find out more” in the fees and funding section further down this page for full details of any extra costs relating to our nursing and occupational therapy courses.<br/><br/>Completion of this degree in mental health nursing provides eligibility to apply for registration with the NMC as a qualified nurse - mental health nursing.<br/><br/>Studying one of our nursing or occupational therapy courses at Leeds Beckett opens doors to a diverse range of placement opportunities, particularly in mental health nursing jobs, within the NHS and the voluntary sector. These placements span various settings, including drug and alcohol services, mother and baby programmes, eating disorder clinics, and forensic environments.<br/><br/>Throughout your studies, you’ll have regular opportunities to engage with mental health service users.
