The programme has a core focus on social justice and empowerment, helping you understand the public causes of personal pain.

There’s a strong emphasis on the core practice skills you’ll need to prepare for a long and rewarding career in social work, developed through participative learning, simulation‑suite scenarios, and input from service users, practitioners and former students. You can also access international opportunities, including placements in India and a mental health Summer School which includes an exchange trip to Michigan, USA.
Our Social Work degree is approved by Social Work England (SWE) and achieved full reapproval in 2022. When you successfully complete the course, you’ll be eligible to apply to register with SWE, ready to make a real difference in people’s lives.
