Our three-year BSc degree in Applied Mathematics is a highly regarded programme that welcomes students from around the world.<br/><br/>Throughout your studies you will cover the most important mathematical concepts in linear and abstract algebra, real and complex analysis, probability and differential equations, and the ways these are applied to industry including game theory, financial markets, cancer modelling, dynamical systems, quantum mechanics, machine learning, data science, and more.<br/><br/>Your learning will be shaped by inspirational and internationally-renowned academics who have expertise in a range of topics in pure and applied mathematics, and you will study in bespoke teaching spaces, designed by, and for, mathematicians.<br/><br/>You will master the ideas and logic of mathematics and their applications, with strong analytical skills, logical reasoning, data handling and quantitative thinking, building a highly desirable set of graduate attributes that will set you apart in the employment marketplace.<br/><br/><strong>This programme includes opportunities to undertake a Year Abroad, enhancing your learning and offering invaluable life experience, and a Year in Industry, in the UK or overseas, enabling you to gain valuable workplace experience. The University advocates for paid-only placements, which on average have a salary of over £20,000. Unpaid placements are considered on a case-by-case basis.</strong>
