From the moment you enrol, you will begin developing the knowledge and skills needed to understand crime, justice and offending behaviour.<br/><br/>In the first year, you will build a strong foundation for studying at university level. You will develop key academic and professional skills such as communication, critical thinking and independent learning, while exploring contemporary issues affecting people, communities and society. Through project work and practical activities, you will develop your skills in research, analysis and problem-solving.<br/><br/>As you progress, you will explore criminology in greater depth, including the social and psychological factors that influence offending behaviour. You will study crime, justice systems and responses to crime, while developing a strong understanding of theory and practice.<br/><br/>The programme includes opportunities to develop professional and employability skills, including work-related learning. This prepares you for careers in criminal justice and related fields, as well as further study.<br/><br/>In the first year of the programme, you will build a strong foundation for studying criminology. You will develop key academic skills while exploring crime and justice in society. Through project work and practical activities, you will develop confidence in research and analysis.<br/><br/>Teaching takes place through lectures, seminars and workshops, supported by a range of learning activities. You will be supported to develop your academic skills and approach to learning.<br/><br/>As you progress, you will explore criminological theory, research methods and applied topics. You will develop your ability to analyse crime and evaluate responses to it.
