In the first year, you will build a strong foundation for studying at university level. You will develop key academic and professional skills such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking and independent learning, while exploring contemporary issues affecting people, communities and society. Through project work and practical activities, you will develop your skills in research, analysis and problem-solving.
As you progress, you will explore the lives, development and wellbeing of children and young people, and the important role families and communities play in supporting them. You will study topics such as child development, safeguarding, family support, education and youth work, alongside the policies and professional practices that shape services.
Throughout the programme, you will develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to work effectively in a range of settings. The course prepares you for careers in areas such as family support, community development, education and youth services.
