**Course Overview**<br/><br/>On our Foundation Year degree in History you’ll discover how to become a skilled historian, combining the study of British and international history across a broad timespan - from the early modern to the contemporary.<br/><br/>**Why study with us**<br/><br/><br/>- You’ll have the chance to get involved in international volunteering projects through the University’s Centre for Volunteering and Community leadership (CVCL), with some modules accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).<br/><br/><br/>- You’ll be able to take on a work placement with host organisations such as the Lancashire Archives and the People’s History Museum.<br/><br/><br/>- Develop your own Community History Project , working to a project brief devised by a real client.<br/><br/><br/>**What youll do**<br/><br/><br/>- Learn about other cultures or even learn a new language through our Worldwise Learning Centre.<br/><br/><br/>- Gain work experience with public sector heritage and museum organisations through our Centre for Volunteering and Community Leadership.<br/><br/><br/>- Our employability modules combine workplace experience and project management with the wider skills that the study of history entails.<br/><br/><br/>**Accreditations**<br/><br/><br/>- The Institute is at the leading edge of management thinking and are a globally recognised professional membership body for leaders and managers.
