<strong>Our Media and Communications degree provides an academic, creative and critical understanding of the media for roles in a variety of creative industries and backgrounds.</strong><br/><br/>Students on the Media and Communications course learn how to produce creative content in a variety of media, enabling them to adapt communications for diverse audiences and preparing them for a wide range of professional roles. They explore digital content, moving image, art direction, copywriting, and a variety of other visual and written communications used in branding, journalism and activism. The degree has a strong employment focus, building up skills through practical modules, critical and research modules, and industry modules.<br/><br/>Students can choose between two pathways, specialising in years 2 and 3. The Digital Cultures pathway offers a diverse choice of industry-specific modules, inviting students to select options in audio-visual practice, social media curation, journalism and branding. The Creative Communications pathway, designed in partnership with internationally renowned advertising agency M&C Saatchis London HQ, consists of modules focused on creative content production within advertising contexts, allowing students to adapt to a wide range of roles in branding and advertising industries.<br/><br/>Both pathways are taught by an experienced team of academics and industry professionals, and are informed by research, consultancy work and the day-to-day business of communications practice - preparing students for graduate careers in branding, advertising, in-house communications, PR, marketing, content management and social media.<br/><br/><strong>What you should know about this course</strong><br/><br/><br/>• It combines academic, creative and critical approaches to media and communications, including image, text, video, social media and emerging AI technologies.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• It offers immersive and employment-focused learning with a wide range of visits from industry professionals.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• It supports students in developing broad-ranging portfolios of independent creative work.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• It offers optional placements at leading creative agencies, mentorship from industry professionals, and opportunities for students to publicly present their work<br/><br/><br/><br/>• It introduces media and communications in all its interdisciplinarity, and equips students with necessary skills to enter a wide range of professional roles after graduation.<br/><br/>
