Clinical Dental Technology Bachelor of Science (with Honours) - BSc (Hons)

Course Overview

On our Clinical Dental Technology (CDT) degree, you'll train as a clinical dental technician in state-of-the-art dental labs. You'll have access to cutting-edge technology and specialist equipment, including intraoral scanning, CAD/CAM design, milling and 3D printing systems.

What you’ll do

* Your first two years will involve training in our on-site dental laboratory and the University of Lancashire Dental Clinic.

* Technical and clinical team skills are reinforced in Year 2.

* In year 3 you'll gain experience in the the University of Lancashire Community Dental Clinic in Preston.

Accreditations

* This course has been accepted by the GDC Registrar. The GDC is the UK-wide statutory regulator of the dental profession. They register qualified dental professionals, work to ensure the quality of dental education, and protect patient safety.

Future careers

On completion of the course, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the General Dental Council and work in dentistry as a dental care professional.

With the specialised technical and clinical skills you acquire, you'll enhance your employment prospects and unlock greater earning potential in the field. You could work as a dental technician (or dental technologist) or a clinical dental technician.

You can also progress into advanced or specialist dental technology. You could specialise in reconstruction sciences such as:

* conservation

* orthodontics

* prosthodontics
