<strong>About the course</strong><br/><br/>BSc Adult Nursing prepares you to deliver safe, high quality care in hospitals and community settings, supporting adults to maintain health and manage illness across the lifespan. Ranked in the top 10 in the UK for Nursing (Guardian University Guide 2024) and 2nd in the UK for student satisfaction (Complete University Guide 2025), the course combines academic excellence with strong clinical preparation.<br/><br/>On successful completion, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Throughout the degree, you will work towards meeting NMC standards of proficiency and develop the values central to the NHS Constitution, including compassion, dignity, respect and professional responsibility.<br/><br/>You will gain a strong understanding of how the body functions, how to promote physical and mental wellbeing, and how to support people with acute and long term conditions. Your professional skillset will include health assessment, person centred care planning, clinical skills, medication management, teamwork, leadership and evidence based practice.<br/><br/>Home students are eligible for a non repayable £5,000 NHS bursary per academic year, with additional support available in certain circumstances.<br/><br/><strong>What you’ll study</strong><br/><br/>You will develop knowledge across adult health, public health and person centred nursing practice, building confidence in clinical reasoning and professional relationships.<br/><br/>Modules may include:<br/><br/>• Developing Professional Relationships in Nursing<br/><br/>• Applied Human Biology for Nursing<br/><br/>• Introduction to Public Health and Health Promotion<br/><br/>• Assessing Needs and Planning Person centred Care<br/><br/>• Nursing Practice Part 1<br/><br/>Modules are subject to review, but core learning outcomes remain aligned with NMC standards.<br/><br/><strong>How you’ll learn</strong><br/><br/>Your training combines classroom study with immersive practical experience. Teaching takes place in lectures, seminars, group work, online learning and reflective practical sessions led by experienced academics and clinicians.<br/><br/>You will train in Clinical Simulation Centres where you can practise and refine skills safely before applying them in real clinical environments. Learning places equal emphasis on physical and mental health, reflecting modern integrated healthcare services.<br/><br/>Professional placements are a core part of your training and take place across NHS Trusts, community health services, primary care, mental health providers and specialist settings. An elective placement abroad may also be available.<br/><br/><strong>Future opportunities</strong><br/><br/>A BSc Adult Nursing from Roehampton opens doors across health and social care, including roles in:<br/><br/>• Community nursing teams such as District Nursing and Health Visiting<br/><br/>• General Practice Nursing<br/><br/>• Hospitals including wards, A&E, ITU and outpatient departments<br/><br/>• Care homes, hospices and rehabilitation centres<br/><br/>• Specialist teams such as Respiratory and Oncology<br/><br/>• Research and education<br/><br/><strong>Facilities</strong><br/><br/>You will train in the purpose built Clinical Simulation Centre at Froebel College, including the Froebel Ward, mock consulting rooms, simulated patient homes and high tech patient simulators.<br/><br/>You will also use the Mary Seacole Health Innovation Centre, a multi disciplinary hub for primary and community care. These facilities provide a realistic and supportive environment to develop your skills before applying them on placement.

A level, International Baccalaureate, relevant Access to HE diplomas and BTEC extended diploma qualifications. One subject must be science or health-related.
