What you will study
On our LLB Law with Business course, you’ll gain a deep understanding of the main areas of legal knowledge, including law as it regulates:
* The functions of the state (public law and criminal law)
* Relations between private individuals (contract law and tort law)
* The ownership and control of land and other property (land law, and equity and trusts).
The Law with Business LLB combines the core subjects required for a qualifying law degree with the opportunity to specialise in business and management. It is ideal for students seeking legal knowledge alongside commercial insight, whether or not they intend to pursue a traditional legal career.
You will develop a strong understanding of legal, business, and ethical concepts, including corporate law, commercial law, and regulatory compliance, while exploring how law and business intersect in addressing contemporary challenges such as sustainability and emerging technologies like AI.
Taught jointly by the Surrey Law School and Surrey School of Business, the programme offers flexible module choices across areas such as marketing, finance, and HR. You will gain key transferable skills – including critical thinking, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication – through practical learning such as case studies, simulations, and group projects.
