Law rarely stops at a border. This course pairs a qualifying law degree with the study of international relations, so you graduate able to analyse both legal and geopolitical issues with the same rigour.
Alongside the academic grounding you’d expect from a law degree, including contract, tort, public law, property and equity, you’ll examine why the world is organised into competing states, how power is exercised between them, and where international law, diplomacy and armed conflict fit into that picture. You’ll study realism, liberalism and constructivism alongside negligence and trusts, and explore the UN, NATO, the WTO and the EU alongside the English legal system. The result is a degree suited to students aiming for legal practice, while also preparing you for careers in diplomacy, international organisations, policy, journalism or humanitarian work.
